Blundr Subscription Terms

Last updated: August 31, 2026

These Subscription Terms apply when you start a Blundr Pro free trial or paid subscription. They form part of the Blundr Terms of Service. If a local law gives you a stronger mandatory right, that right controls.

1. Plans and prices

Blundr Free costs $0 and does not require a payment method.

Blundr Pro is offered on the web at the following U.S. list prices unless a localized checkout displays a different lawful local price:

  • Monthly: $9.99 per month, plus applicable taxes.
  • Annual: $69.99 per year, plus applicable taxes.

The Annual plan is approximately 42% less than paying the Monthly price for 12 months at the stated U.S. list price.

Before you subscribe, checkout will display the plan, currency, price, taxes or tax treatment where available, billing interval, trial terms, first charge date, renewal terms, and cancellation method that apply to your purchase.

2. Seven-day Pro trial

Eligible new customers may receive a 7-day Blundr Pro trial. A valid payment method is required. The trial starts when checkout is successfully completed, not when you first view the paywall.

You will owe $0 in subscription fees when the trial starts. Unless you cancel before the trial-ending date and time displayed at checkout and in your confirmation, the trial automatically converts to the paid plan you selected and your payment method will be charged the disclosed amount plus applicable taxes.

A person is generally eligible for one introductory Pro trial per account and payment method. We may deny or end repeat, fraudulent, abusive, or technically duplicated trial enrollments where permitted by law.

We will send an enrollment confirmation and a trial-ending reminder approximately 72 hours before the scheduled first charge. Failure to receive an email does not extend the trial if we sent it to the email address associated with your account, except where applicable law requires another result.

3. Automatic renewal

After the trial converts, Monthly subscriptions renew approximately once per month and Annual subscriptions renew approximately once per year until canceled.

By starting the trial or subscription, you expressly authorize Blundr and its payment processor to charge the payment method you provide for the recurring subscription amount, applicable taxes, and any price change that has taken effect after the required notice, until you cancel or the subscription otherwise ends.

No cancellation fee applies.

4. How to cancel

You may cancel online through Settings → Billing → Manage subscription → Cancel subscription. You will not be required to telephone, chat with, or email a representative to complete an online cancellation.

If you cancel during the free trial before the displayed conversion deadline, you will not be charged the subscription fee. Unless the cancellation screen says otherwise, Pro access continues through the scheduled trial end.

If you cancel after a paid billing period begins, cancellation normally stops the next automatic renewal and Pro access continues through the end of the paid period. Mandatory cooling-off, withdrawal, refund, and immediate-cancellation rights under applicable law remain available.

We will provide a durable cancellation confirmation promptly after you cancel.

5. Renewal and trial reminders

Blundr will provide:

  • a reminder approximately 72 hours before a 7-day introductory trial converts to paid service;
  • an annual renewal reminder approximately 30 days before an Annual plan renews;
  • a periodic subscription reminder to Monthly subscribers at least every six months, timed before an upcoming renewal; and
  • any additional reminder or cooling-off notice required by the law that applies to you.

Each reminder will identify the plan, upcoming charge or renewal, relevant date, and a direct method to manage or cancel the subscription.

6. Refunds and cooling-off rights

If you cancel before a free trial converts, no subscription fee is charged.

As a voluntary Blundr policy, you may request a refund of the first paid subscription charge made immediately after an introductory trial if you request it within 14 days after that charge. You may also request a refund of an Annual renewal charge within 14 days after that annual renewal. These voluntary refund windows do not reduce any longer or more favorable statutory right.

Outside those situations, subscription charges are generally non-refundable once the paid billing period begins, except where applicable law, a platform rule, or these Terms require a refund.

If the law where you live provides a cooling-off, withdrawal, cancellation, conformity, or refund right, that right applies. By asking us to activate Pro immediately, you request that the digital service begin immediately during any applicable withdrawal period. If applicable law requires payment for service already supplied after a lawful withdrawal, the amount will be handled as that law requires. Nothing in these Terms waives a mandatory statutory right.

To request a refund or exercise a statutory withdrawal right, use Settings → Billing where available or email support@blundr.io with the account email and the request. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to locate the transaction and verify the request.

7. Payment failures

If a payment fails, we may ask you to update your payment method and may retry the charge as permitted by law and payment-network rules. We may provide a reasonable grace period. If payment remains unsuccessful, Pro may downgrade to Free. A payment failure does not erase your chess progress, repertoire history, rewards, or other account data merely because the plan changed.

8. Downgrades

When Pro ends, your account becomes Free unless the account itself is closed. Downgrade limits apply prospectively. Blundr will not delete earned chess progress, opening unlocks, historical training data, Review items, or rewards merely because your subscription ended.

If you have more Free-tier active openings or a Daily target higher than the Free limit, the Service will apply the Free effective limits while preserving the underlying account data so it can be restored if you later return to Pro.

9. Price changes

We may change subscription prices prospectively. We will provide advance notice before a price increase affects an existing subscription and will state the new price and when it applies. For Annual subscriptions, a new price will not apply before the next renewal. For Monthly subscriptions, we will provide at least 30 days’ advance notice or any longer period required by law. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

10. Taxes and currency

Prices may be displayed in local currency. Applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes may be added or included as required by law and will be disclosed at or before checkout. You are not responsible for an undisclosed mandatory charge that applicable consumer law requires us to disclose before purchase.

11. Payment processor and app stores

Web subscriptions may be processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment provider. The payment provider may process payment details under its own privacy terms.

If Blundr is later sold through an app store or another authorized marketplace, billing, cancellation, refund, and renewal mechanics may also be governed by that marketplace’s mandatory rules. We will identify the seller and applicable terms before purchase.

12. Changes to subscription features

We may improve or modify Pro features. If a change materially reduces the paid Service during a prepaid period, we will provide any remedy required by applicable law and, where appropriate, a reasonable pro-rated refund or equivalent remedy.
